Doncaster manager Paul Dickov made a memorable return to Oldham but his Rovers side left it late before securing their passage into the FA Cup third-round draw.

Genseric Kusunga’s own goal four minutes from time proved to be enough to settle a tight encounter against the club where Dickov spent three years.

MK Dons have enjoyed some memorable cup exploits in recent months but their participation in this season’s FA Cup is over after defeat to League One rivals Chesterfield, who earned a 1-0 triumph thanks to Armand Gnanduillet’s 53rd-minute header.

Paul Huntington’s first-half goal gave two-time FA Cup winners Preston a place in Monday’s draw as they saw off League Two high-flyers Shrewsbury 1-0 at Deepdale.

Jason Koumas set up a replay as the all-League Two encounter between Tranmere and Oxford ended in a 2-2 draw.

Tyrone Barnett netted a quickfire second-half brace as Oxford overturned Cole Stockton’s opener at the Kassam, but former Wales international Koumas bent in a 25-yard equaliser to level things up again.

There will also be a replay between Bury and Luton thanks to home substitute Dan Nardiello, who struck in stoppage time to snatch a 1-1 draw for his side.

Mark Cullen pounced on a Rob Lainton error to break the deadlock just after half-time, but the hosts managed to force a replay at the death through former Rotherham forward Nardiello.

League Two Accrington still have a chance of upsetting League One strugglers Yeovil after drawing 1-1 at Store First Stadium, Tom Aldred’s 64th-minute strike cancelling out Jordan Clarke’s first-half opener for the visitors to keep both sides in the hat.
