Rovers head into the game needing to match what third-from-bottom Birmingham City do in order to retain their second-tier status, with the Blues visiting Bolton Wanderers.

In the past month, the Keepmoat Stadium outfit had entered into freefall following their victory over Leeds United on March 1, taking one point from a possible 18 and losing five of their last six matches.

But Dickov, who has a fully fit squad apart from Rob Jones and Harry Forrester, says what is past is past ahead of returning to one of his old clubs and is only interested in Saturday.

He said: “We had a brief chat after the Reading game and a meeting on Monday morning and as a manager, the aim was to make sure we are all looking forward to the game on Saturday and not dwell not just on the Reading game, but previous games as well.

“The tendancy is, and I am one of the worst for it, is to look back at decisions which went against you.”
