England are set to do battle with Argentina for a place in the World Cup final.
Vast swathes of the country will grind to a halt tomorrow night (July 15), putting club rivalries aside to cheer on the Three Lions.
Thomas Tuchel’s men continued their magical summer with a quarter-final win at the weekend, eliminating Norway with a 2-1 win courtesy of a Jude Bellingham brace.
“The effort, team spirit, the belief and to overcome adversity and to dig in and find ways to win is on the absolutely highest level,” said Tuchel. “They cannot get enough praise for that.
“But I’m also a football coach and I think we can play better. In general, I think it was not a high-level game. I think we had better games in general.”
Tuchel may not have selected any players currently playing for Yorkshire clubs, but there are plenty of connections to the county in both camps.
Here are the Yorkshire connections from the England and Argentina squads as the world prepares to watch the two countries square off.
