Ex-Huddersfield Town lethal striker could join Cardiff City, Serie A giants eye Norwich City star

Huddersfield Town slumped to their fourth loss in five matches last weekend, as they fell to a 3-0 defeat to Preston North End at Deepdale, where failing to take their chances once again cost the Terriers dearly.

The result leaves Carlos Corberan's side lying perilously in 19th place, seven points above the relegation zone, and should Rotherham United pick up points from their two games in hand, Huddersfield could well become embroiled in a battle to avoid a bottom-three finish.

Speaking in the wake of the defeat, the Terriers boss said: "Football is not about how many chances you create it is about how many chances you take. We did not make the most of those chances.

“Preston used their opportunities well and they were much better than us in that area.”

Huddersfield will look to bounce back tomorrow night, when they take on fellow strugglers Birmingham City in a must-win game at the John Smith's Stadium.

The Terriers will be out for revenge following the two sides' last meeting, where a 90th minute Lukas Jutkiewic goal saw Birmingham snatch a late win at St. Andrew's.
