The curtain has come down on an incredibly eventful 2025/26 League One campaign.
Fans of Lincoln City, Cardiff City and Bolton Wanderers may still be celebrating their respective promotions, but it was a tough campaign for most of the division’s Yorkshire clubs.
Rotherham United suffered a humiliating relegation to League Two, while Barnsley finished in the bottom half of the table. Huddersfield Town missed out on a place in the top six despite their lofty pre-season ambitions, finishing ninth.
Bradford City surged into the play-offs but were beaten by Bolton Wanderers at the semi-final stage, and Doncaster Rovers avoided relegation by rising to 15th.
It may have been a gruelling and emotionally taxing season for many of the county’s League One clubs, but all retained support right through until the end.
