Former Huddersfield Town, Doncaster Rovers and Aston Villa man snapped up by League One club
The 31-year-old had joined Posh on a short-term basis last term, although his deal expired at the end of the season. Peterborough have now moved to bring the stopper back to the club, handing him a two-year contract.

Hide AdAfter putting pen to paper, Steer said: "It’s been an incredibly enjoyable six months for me here and I must thank the club and the manager for bringing me in. I am incredibly pleased I am able to return next season and finish the job we started in the last campaign.
“We wanted to go up to the Championship and hopefully next year we will achieve that goal together. We have a great group of young, hungry players. Going to Wembley this year, to win the trophy and the experience that brings to the group was really beneficial, a great experience.
"At the end of the day this was a fantastic season, but hopefully next season brings us even more. I’ve really got the itch again already; I can’t wait to get going and I’m buzzing to be here.”

Hide AdSteer, a product of the Norwich City academy, has spent most of his career in the Midlands with Aston Villa. He spent a decade at Villa Park, acting mostly as an understudy, before departing in 2023.
During his time at Villa, he had two stints in Yorkshire. Doncaster signed Steer temporarily in 2014 and he returned to the county a year later to spend the 2014/15 season with Huddersfield.
Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson said: “It was a really important target for us to re-sign Jed for the coming season. He has been impressive since he arrived back in January and offers our young squad leadership both on and off the pitch given his vast experience.
