Fulham v Hull City: Three points is Tim Iroegbunam's target as Tigers turn favourites

It says a lot about Hull City’s mindset that after such an unexpectedly good start to 2026-27, Tim Iroegbunam is looking for them to kick on at Fulham on Saturday.

The Tigers are in the top half of the table, below Leeds United on goal difference but above Liverpool with a point-and-a-half per game. By any standards, it has been a great start back in the Premier League.

But the last win was at Coventry City in August, and Iroegbunam is keen to put that right. And for the first time, the pressure will be on supposedly hopeless Hull to claim three points against a Fulham team still stuck on two.

"Every Premier League game anything can happen," is the former Aston Villa and Everton midfielder 's diplomatic answer when asked if Hull are favourites. "It doesn't really matter about form, it's what happens on the day.

"I know with them, especially being at home, they've got something to prove so they're going to be going all at it.

"I think this is a game where we could get three points.

"We've picked up a lot of draws so hopefully this is a game where we can get another three points and head more in an upwards direction."

Having made a good impression off the bench, Iroegbunam is hoping to make his first start for a team he joined in the summer.

Knee issues have held him back, but with Matt Crooks picking up bookings in all four league matches he has played and substituted in the last three – two at half-time – it could be time for one of the players who served Hull so brilliantly last season to make way for one of the new faces.
