Mirco Antenucci is being told to leave Leeds United by his wife, according to Italian outlet Ternana News.

Antenucci is thought to be happy at Leeds but could return to Italy in the summer after the birth of his second child.

His wife is thought to want their children to grow up in Italy after 18 months in Italy.

As a result, Antenucci instructed his agent to drum up interest in his home country, which led to moves from Ascoli, Novara and former club Ternana.

His contract expires at the end of the season.

Scunthorpe United are interested in taking Hull City striker Greg Luer on loan.

According to BBC Radio Humberside, the 21-year-old could soon be making a switch to Glanford Park.

Luer joined Hull from Burgess Hill Town in 2015 after scoring 12 goals in 21 games for the Isthmian League Premier Division side.

He has scored twice for Hull in six appearances this season.

Nigel Adkins has admitted that he might look to sign free agents for Sheffield United, rather than exploiting the recently opened emergency loan window.

The Blades lost 2-0 on Saturday, which left them five points away from the play-offs.

Asked about the emergency loan window, he said: “There are also plenty of other options.

“Players who aren’t under contract could sign as free agents... a lot of players ended up leaving their clubs on the last day of the transfer window, after their contracts were terminated.

“But we’ve said before, we need players who will come in and make the difference straightaway... we have 17 games to go. We have a lot of bodies here, so it’s not about that.”
