'Great impact': Bradford City wing-back Josh Neufville secures League One accolade after stellar September

BRADFORD City wing-back Josh Neufville has been named as the Sky Bet League One player-of-the-month for September.

The 24-year-old has been in outstanding form since arriving at the club in the summer from AFC Wimbledon and excelled during a purple patch last month for City, who surged to the third-tier summit.

Neufville enhanced his reputation as one of the shrewdest summer window signings by any EFL club with successive goals in the Bantams' stellar wins over Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City, allied to the winning strike in the game against Blackpool.

On the accolade, manager Graham Alexander, who missed out on the managerial gong, which went to Lincoln City's Michael Skubala, said: "We are all delighted for Josh to win this award, it is very much deserved.

"He has made a great impact since joining and shown a great attitude to fit in straightaway.

"We are very happy with his progress, which has been ably supported by his teammates.”

Neufville added: "I am grateful to receive this award, it is something I have always wanted to achieve on a personal level.”

In all, Nicholson made more than 280 appearances for Huddersfield, scoring 25 goals. He represented Northern Ireland 41 times between 1960 and 1971, scoring six goals.
