Grimsby Town v York City: Arthur Read's emergence well-timed with pair missing
York City have midfield issues ahead of their League Two trip to Grimsby Town, so Arthur Read's emergence is very well timed.
Read was a summer signing from Colchester United but a combination of injuries and the form of others meant he had to bide his time.
But he has grasped his chance – just as well with fellow midfielders Ollie Banks and Hiram Boateng missing Saturday’s 12.30pm kick-off in Cleethorpes.
Banks was concussed in the midweek defeat at Barnet, Boateng sent off on his first start of an injury-hit season. Read came off the bench to score.
“I’ve loved Ready," said coach Scott Lindsey.
“He’s trained so well, he’s been patient because Banks has played in those pivot roles so well.
“The opportunity came up last week and he played 90 minutes. I thought he was our best player.
“Having said that, he’s not played loads of football this season so to go from 90 minutes on Saturday to then start the next game (at Barnet), it was something I didn’t want to do.

"Of course Banksy gets injured, so we had to make that change.
“But he was fantastic, got his goal and was great in the game.”
Concussion injuries are taken out of the hands of medical departments these days, with Banks out for a minimum seven days.
Like Boateng, defender Morgan Williams was just back from injury when he fell awkwardly in an aerial challenge.

“We’re unsure of how significant that is, we’ve got to wait to scan him,” said Lindsey.
“He challenged aerially in the box and landed funnily, I think their striker fell on him.
“It made his knee and foot collapse inwards.”
Jack Hunt and Zech Medley are available, though.
The midfield injuries could see academy player Ethan Stiver on the bench.
