Harvey has won five of his seven games in charge of The Shaymen, and added to the team’s impressive 1-0 win at Lincoln City on Boxing Day with another encouraging result, thanks to first-half goals from Shaun Tuton and Kingsley James. Harvey said: “The boys were excellent today. They’re starting to enjoy it. They’re working together and slowly but surely it’s turning around.”

Wrexham had controlled the game in the early stages without really hurting Town, and their majority share of possession counted for nothing when Tuton gave Halifax the lead.

Sean Newton’s clearance put Blaine Hudson under pressure, before his attempted clearance hit Tuton and squirmed beyond the stranded Rhys Taylor.

James added the second when his shot flew high into the net after Jordan Burrow’s chip crashed off the bar.

Jamal Fyfield was given a straight red-card for a lunging tackle on Tuton in added time.

Halifax: Johnson, Roberts, Bolton, Bencherif, Brown, McManus, Tuton, Wroe (Hibbs 89), James, Walker (Hughes 68), Burrow (Macdonald 68). Unused substitutes: Porter, Clappison.
