Home comforts should benefit Guiseley - Bower

The Lions have not win in five games - a run that includes back-to-back home defeats - but go into tomorrow’s fixture boosted by creditable draws at Torquay United and Chester.

Now, Bower wants to see his men rediscover the winning habit at a venue he knows could go a long way towards deciding how this season pans out.

He said: “We started off with two really good wins at home and it’s important we win home games, it keeps home fans happy and breeds confidence for the lads.

“There was intense disappointment that we didn’t take three points at Chester and Torquay.

“It is important we get that win to give the boys belief we can have some relative success this season, as we certainly aren’t a million miles away.”

Meanwhile, Neil Aspin has called on his FC Halifax Town side to ease the pressure near the foot of the the table by claiming a much-needed three points at home to Kidderminster Harriers.

The Shaymen have just one victory to their name all season and host a side still waiting for a first maximum.

Aspin said: “I think they are all big games when you are not winning. The win against Barrow was a big win because we hadn’t won a game.

“We are playing against a team who are down there with us. We’re at home and we’ll be trying to win every game. It is an important game and the longer it [not winning] goes on, you put yourselves under more pressure.”

Halifax have signed 19-year-old Sheffield United defender Julian Banton on a month’s loan. He has joined fellow Blades youngsters, David Brooks and CJ Hamilton, at The Shay. He has previously had loan spells at Matlock Town and Bradford Park Avenue.
