Harrogate Town exit as defender set for Rotherham United
HARROGATE Town defender Kyle Jameson has left the League Two strugglers at the expiry of his contract.
The former Newport County player, 27, a free agent after leaving the Exiles at the end of last season, joined the Sulphurites on a short-term deal in November following a successful trial period.
Jameson made his debut against MK Dons just before Christmas and was also handed starts against Salford, Accrington, Tranmere and Crewe.
He has now headed for pastures new as Town continue to realign their squad in preparation for a key final third of the 2025-26 campaign, which has now descended into a fight to preserve their league status.

Already this month, Harrogate have brought in three new defensive options in Newcastle United under-21s captain Cathal Heffernan, Brentford centre-half Chanse Headman and Irish defender Grant Horton.
Loan striker Emile Acquah and goalkeeper Henry Gray, who has also joined for the rest of the season, have also bolstered Harrogate's squad, while veteran keeper James Belshaw has returned to boyhood club Notts County.
Meanwhile, Rotherham United are closing in on a defensive breakthrough and are set to sign Norwich City centre-half Emmanuel Adegboyega on loan.
The Republic of Ireland born player, hasn't played in the Canaries' first team but has had loan spells at Drogheda, Walsall and Dundee United.

The 22-year-old featured 14 times during a loan spell with the Saddlers in 2024.
So far in the winter window, the Millers have made one signing in the shape of Leeds United teenage striker Harry Gray, who made his debut in last weekend's 3-2 League One reverse at Stockport County.
Millers chief Matt Hamshaw wants further attacking reinforcements with Rotherham being one of several clubs who are keen on bringing in Sheffield United striker Ryan One on loan.
Rotherham, who have lost their last eight matches in all competitions, are preparing for a critical home double-header.
The lowly Millers host AFC Wimbledon on Saturday and three days later, they entertain Northampton.
