Harrogate Town transfer latest: Signing number eight as League Two strugglers recruit Wigan Athletic midfielder
HARROGATE Town have completed the deadline-day signing of Wigan Athletic midfielder Tobias Brenan, who has joined on loan for the rest of the campaign.
Brenan is the club’s eighth new arrival of the winter window and is eligible for Tuesday night’s League Two game against Swindon Town at Wetherby Road as Town desperately seek three points to galvanise their survival fight after a wretched run.
The 19-year-old started his career with Oxford United, before switching to the Latics in the summer of 2018.
Brenan established himself in the club’s under-21 side and made his first-team debut on the opening day of this season. He has gone on to start a further five times for his parent club, his last coming at the start of January.

Harrogate chief Simon Weaver told Radio York: "We’re delighted to bring Toby in. He’s energetic, puts himself about and is up for the challenge here.”
Brenan added: "I just want to get out and play games, there’s still a lot of games left this season and there’s no reason we can’t get out of the position we’re in so I’ll be doing all I can to help.
"I’m ready to play, I feel fit, energetic and want to show what I’m about.”
Brenan is the club’s fourth loan addition after the earlier arrivals of Henry Gray, Emile Acquah and Emmerson Sutton.
Grant Horton, Chanse Headman, Cathal Heffernan and Aiden Marsh have also joined on a full-time basis.
