Harrogate Town v Port Vale: Sulphurites in good shape for challenging run, says SImon Weaver

SIMON WEAVER thinks Harrogate Town are in good shape for a challenging run of fixtures – better even than he thought.

The Sulphurites host League Two leaders Port Vale on Tuesday, then travel to Notts County on Saturday before the visit eight days later of Wrexham for a televised FA Cup tie.

Harrogate go in on the back of three league matches unbeaten, the most recent being a 1-1 draw at Carlisle United.

"We've watched it back and we were better than we originally thought,” admitted manager Weaver. “The shape was better and we frustrated them, they didn't really create anything apart from one tight offside decision.

"It's just the finer details really, getting better at it, or attempting to. And they'll have to be because we're now playing the top of the league team, Port Vale. They're on a good run, so are we at home – three (league wins) out of four.

"We're really in a batch of teams we're playing against now that are big historical clubs with massive fanbases and huge ambitions. Port Vale are right at the top of that group with Notts County.”
