Simon Weaver was understandably thrilled by how easily his side dispatched Colchester United as they recorded a seventh victory in 10 matches in midweek, but insists that there are still areas where his players can do better.

“We’re looking a good outfit at the moment, but we’ll have to be on Saturday. Forest Green away from home is a big challenge,” the Sulphurites boss said.

“We know how good they are, how strong their squad is. We’ll have to go again and try and make sure we come away with at least a point.

“The lads can be pleased with how they’ve been performing recently and we are building it. Seven wins out of 10 is fantastic, but we’ve got to continue to work in the same vain so that we’re not too happy just to be mid-table and think things are going well.

“We want to keep improving. There are always things we can look at.

“I couldn’t really be happier after a 3-0 win against a very good Colchester team with a lot of pedigree, but there were moments when maybe we dropped a bit deep.

“Could we have stopped some of the crosses into our box?

“We made points coming off the pitch, we made points in the changing room individually to try and ensure we can cut out the chances that Colchester had.

“It’s not just ‘we’ve kept a clean-sheet, so everything is brilliant’, it’s a case of ‘well done for keeping the clean-sheet, but can we improve on some of these little things so that we become a better team?’.

“That’s what we’re asking the players.”
