Harrogate Town v Walsall - Jack Muldoon happy to wing it in pursuit of goals
The versatile 31-year-old attacker produced a pair of tidy finishes during the newly-promoted North Yorkshire club’s 4-0 rout of Southend United on the opening day, a result that sees them begin the weekend top of the table.
And Muldoon, who has ended both of the previous two campaigns as Harrogate’s top-scorer, is confident that he can deliver once again.

“Whether I’m playing up top or out wide, I see it as my responsibility to try and score goals. Goals change games. Goals win games.
“I’m happy to do my bit defensively if I’m on the wing, but you need to get into the box whenever you can and become that third striker – that’s what I’m always telling our wingers when I’m playing through the middle.
“The more bodies we have in the box, the more chance of the ball finding a Harrogate shirt when it gets delivered in there, and the more opportunities we’ll get to score.

Muldoon made his 100th Town appearance against West Bromwich Albion in midweek and admitted that he’s surprised how quickly he has reached that milestone, having only joined the club in the summer of 2018.
“I didn’t know it was going to be my 100th game until the day before and I was quite surprised to be honest,” he added.
“The Hawthorns isn’t a bad place to play your 100th game is it? I’m obviously happy that I’ve been able to feature as regularly as I have.
