Harrogate Town's match against Exeter City quickly rearranged after snow forces another postponement

Harrogate Town's terrible luck in getting games played this winter has continued with the postponement of Saturday's League Two visit of Exeter City.

An early decision was made on Friday that Harrogate's snowbound Wetherby Road pitch would be in no condition to host the 3pm kick-off, saving the Grecians a long wasted journey. It is already the fourth match since Christmas that has had to be postponed, none of them because of Covid-19.

The match has swiftly been rearranged to Tuesday, with a 6.30pm kick-off.

Tuesday's scheduled game at home to Oldham Athletic was postponed because of a power outage in the town. The match had originally been due to take place on December 29, but was abandoned after just ten minutes because the pitch was icing over.

The home game against Cheltenham Town on January 2 was also postponed because of a frozen pitch.

Harrogate installed a 3G all-weather pitch in 2016 but had to rip it out in the summer to comply with Football League regulations.

By Saturday evening they could have three games in hand on some clubs in League Two. Although they had three players missing with coronavirus for Saturday's defeat at Cambridge United, it was not sufficient for the match to be postponed.
