In the meantime, record numbers of football fans have been taking to Football Manager to get their fix. For a bit of fun, we've fired up the popular management sim and sent the game into the future, to have a peek at who the Terriers are predicted to sign over the next two transfer windows.
5. Kyle Walker-Peters - Spurs - 6.5 million
Another lovely bit of business, this. This talented right-back couldn't get a game under Jose Mourinho, and opted to make a permanent move to Huddersfield. His 'work rate' rating is sky high.
6. Daniel Johnson - Preston North End - 8.75 million
He was a goal and assist machine for the Lilywhites in the 2019/20 campaign, and arrives at Deepdale for a relatively substantial fee. He's an ice-cool penalty taker, too.
7. Robert Snodgrass - West Ham United - 2.5 million
The Hammers spent big on a multitude of big-money signings, which allowed the Scotland ace to leave on the cheap. The set-piece wizard is handed the number seven shirt.
8. Sam Johnstone - West Brom - 7.25 million
With Jonas Lossl returning to Everton, the Terriers splash the cash to find a quality replacement. Johnstone is a highly reliable 'keeper, and should prove a good value signing.
