How Yorkshire clubs can still sign players after tonight's transfer deadline

TODAY is deadline day, however, plenty of business could still be done by Yorkshire clubs after the transfer window shuts at 11pm tonight.

A domestic window will remain open until 5pm on Friday, October 16, for permanent and loan signings between EFL and Premier League clubs.

No transfers can take place between Premier League clubs after today but it does give Yorkshire's top-flight sides - Leeds United and Sheffield United - the opportunity to sign players from the Football League.

It is something that could impact the likes of Huddersfield Town, with Karlan Grant and Terence Kongolo both linked with moves away, to West Bromwich Albion and the Blades, respectively.

"During this window, clubs will only be able to trade with EFL clubs (either loans or permanent registrations)," said a Premier League statement.

"No transfers can take place between Premier League clubs in this period."

The transfer window also shuts across Europe this evening, meaning the majority of player sales abroad will also need to be competed by tonight.
