Swansea City 'closing in' on £1m signing of Huddersfield Town's Tom Iorpenda after Notts County loan
Swansea City appear set to sign a highly-rated Huddersfield Town midfielder
Swansea City are reportedly closing in on the signing of highly-rated Huddersfield Town midfielder Tom Iorpenda.
The 21-year-old arrived in West Yorkshire as a teenager, making the move from Brighton & Hove Albion’s academy in 2021.
He has since blossomed into an assured midfielder and enjoyed a stellar 2025/26 season on loan at Notts County.
Huddersfield fans were excited for a return, but it appears he is heading for the Championship ahead of tomorrow’s (September 1) transfer window deadline.

Swansea City ‘closing in’ on Huddersfield Town midfielder
According to Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph, Swansea have agreed a deal worth around £1m to sign the midfielder.
The second-tier Swans will reportedly pay an initial £750,000 and then commit to around £250,000 in add-ons.
Posting on X, Joseph said: “Swansea City are closing in on the signing of Huddersfield Town central midfielder Tom Iorpenda. It’s understood a deal worth around £1m has been agreed by the clubs for the 21-year-old.
“Swansea are expected to pay an initial fee of £750,000, with around £250,000 in add-ons. HTAFC have also inserted a sell-on clause into the deal. Iorpenda is due to undergo a medical in Wales.”

Martin Drury’s Tom Iorpenda admission
Earlier this month, after Iorpenda was linked with Derby County, Huddersfield head coach Martin Drury acknowledged the inevitability of interest.
He said: “Well, I think you'd be naive not to think that there'd be no interest in Tom Iorpenda.
“He's a young player that has real qualities and attributes. He's a real good age. He's been at the club for four years, I think now.
“He's actually been first class. Hopefully, he's here. But if he's not, and someone with interest comes from higher up, and it's something that Tom wants to do, then we know the nature of the window.”
