Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday announce tour details

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN have announced friendlies against sides from the Bundesliga.2, Serie A and the Cypriot First Division during their forthcoming Austrian tour.

Town kick off with a fixture against Aris Limassol at St Ulrich on Monday, July 22 (6pm kick-off).

Aris completed in the Champions League and Europa League in 2023-24 after winning the top-flight title in Cyprus for the first time in the previous season.

Michael Duff’s side then face German outfit Hertha Berlin in Kossen on Thursday, July 25. The game kicks off at 1pm.

Huddersfield then take the field against Italian outfit US Leece three days later on Sunday, July 28 (2.30pm). The game will be played in Jenbach.

Lecce, who finished 14th in Serie A last season, are in their second consecutive campaign back in the Italian top flight.

Town head coach Duff commented: “It’s exciting to see these games now confirmed and the tour as a whole is a real opportunity for us to work closely together right before the start of the season to ensure we’re all on the same page and in the best collective condition and shared mentality possible.”

Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday have also announced two friendlies during their pre-season spell on the continent later this month.

The Owls will be based in southern Germany, but the friendlies will both take place in nearby Austria.

The first game against RB Salzburg on Saturday, July 20, will be played behind closed doors at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg.

Supporters are permitted to attend the second friendly against Werder Bremen at Parkstadion, Zell am Ziller, on Friday, July 26 (2pm).

Tickets will be available on turnstiles only.
