Huddersfield Town close in on ex-Lokomotiv Moscow striker, Watford swoop for ex-Palermo defender

Sheffield Wednesday picked up a massive three points in their bid to escape relegation last night, as a spirited performance from the Owls saw them earn a well-deserved 2-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers, with Jordan Rhodes and Adam Reach bagging the goals.

Huddersfield Town winless run was extended to seven games last weekend, when they were held to a 1-1 draw with Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

The result saw the Terriers continue their troubling slide down the table, and they finished the weekend in 17th place - just five points away from the dreaded relegation zone.

Speaking after the match, manager Carlos Corberan admitted that Luton had deserved to share the points, and claimed: "We wanted to take the three points, but at the same time they thought they could be close to the goal, too, but at the end I think the draw was the normal result."

“It’s so difficult to control this game, in terms of the pitch, the conditions and the emotions of these types of games. We created some good opportunities, but at the same time we had to defend very strong with a lot of attention from the set-pieces they create because we know that they are good at them.”

Next up, Huddersfield return to Championship action on Saturday afternoon, when they take on bottom of the table Wycombe Wanderers in a home clash at the John Smith's Stadium, in what will be a must-win game for the Terriers.
