Huddersfield Town striker Karlan Grant to sit out second successive game

Grant, subject of ongoing interest from West Brom - who have already seen one big-money bid rebuffed - did not feature in last weekend's Carabao Cup exit to Rochdale and he will not be in the squad for the home Championship opener with Norwich City.

National reports have suggested that Grant has grown frustrated at the situation amid a strong desire to move to Albion.

Corberan said: "The situation with Karlan Grant is exactly the same situation that we had in the last week.

"I prefer to be focused now on the players we are going to have in the league. So the situation with him is not changed in the last week.

"I cannot talk about future because we have not (an update) yet."

Corberan confirmed that Saturday's game comes too soon for midfielder Lewis O'Brien, but forward Fraizer Campbell, sidelined in the close season with a nagging Achilles issue, could be in the mix.

He added: "Fraizer was another player we added to the squad during the week. He is in the same group of players as Matty Daly and Rahami Edmonds-Green and he has started to work in the last three days with the team.

"We know the last game he played was against West Bromwich (last season) and until now, he was working with the physios to trying to recover the problem he had with his Achilles.

"Now he has been working for the team for the last three days, so is going to be another option we are going to add to the squad."

On O'Brien, out with a quad problem, he said: "Unfortunately, he is continuing with an injury and hopefully we are now in the last part of the process now with the injury and we will have the option to work with in the weeks (ahead).

"He has had a scan to see the evolution and I hope he can help the team very fast (quickly)."
