Huddersfield Town transfer latest: Ipswich Town star Cameron Humphreys returns
HUDDERSFIELD Town have re-signed Ipswich Town midfielder Cameron Humphreys on a season-long loan.
The 22-year-old spent a loan spell at the Accu Stadium in the second half of last term – making 22 appearances and scoring two goals.
Humphreys has had a contract extension activated at his parent club in the spring, but he has returned to West Yorkshire.
Sporting director Chris Markham said: "We’ve been in close contact with both Ipswich Town and Cameron throughout the summer should an opportunity present itself to bring him back to the club, so we’re delighted that we’ve got this over the line before the deadline.

"As both a person and player, Cameron embodies so many of the qualities we want within our squad, and his familiarity with our environment means the time it will take for him to adjust will be minimal.
“Just as important as our thoughts on Cameron was his appetite to come back, too.
"He formed a strong relationship and understanding with Martin (Drury), knows the majority of the players around him and build a genuine affinity for the club, too.
"As we know, he is a versatile option for us, adding further flexibility to the squad, with the comfort to operate in a number of roles within the team.

"A player we know Town fans grew to love as well, we’re looking forward to having him here with us for the full season ahead.”
In his time at Portman Road, Humphreys enjoyed back-to-back promotions from the Championship and League One.
He also enjoyed a profitable loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers in 2024-25, when the Chairboys reached the play-offs. He made 50 appearances in league and cup and scored seven goals in all competitions, winning the club’s Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year accolades.
The Colchester-born player was also named as Ipswich’s Academy and Young Player of the Year in his breakthrough 2021-22 campaign.
He featured in Ipswich’s EFL Cup tie with Leicester City last month.
Humphreys added: “I’ve had a really good pre-season with Ipswich and feel ready to hit the ground running.
"The team feel like they’re in a positive place at the moment, and I want to do whatever I can to help keep that going, as I know how important momentum can be in this league.”
