The Tigers were the dominant but were unable to put a determined Doncaster Rovers team away. They looked as if they were going to be made to pay when Tyreece John-Jules scored an 82nd-minute equaliser.

Matt Ingram – little to do 6

Josh Emmanuel – pulled an early shot wide 6

Alfie Jones – solid at centre-back 6

Jacob Greaves – caused attacking problems in the second half 7

Callum Elder – got forward well 7

Greg Docherty – influential in winning the midfield battle 7

Richie Smallwood – his shot led to Tom Eaves's winner 7

Hakeeb Adelakun – a couple of link-ups with Honeyman, but generally quiet 6

George Honeyman – buzzed around to great effect and good set-pieces 7

Mallik Wilks – outstanding in the first half, less influential in the second 8

Josh Magennis – great goal but should have had another one-on-one shortly before the equaliser 7.

Lewis-Potter (for Adelakun, 67) – excellent from the bench 7

Eaves (for Magennis, 85) – did exactly what was needed inside two minutes 8

Scott (for Wilks, 85) – forced a late save 7

Joe Lumley – denied Magennis one-on-one but served the chance up for Eaves's winner 6

Brad Halliday – a good performance by the right-back 7

Cameron John – helped his left winger well 6

Ben Whiteman – one excellent curling cross 7

Matt Smith – almost scored but it would have been a fluke 6

Josh Sims – failed to make much impact until he created the equaliser 6

Taylor Richards – started off in the hole but pushed deeper by Hull's performance until he made way 5

Reece James – left winger first half, unable to shore up central midfield in the second 6

Feijiri Okenabirhie – little to feed off up front or when he went wide on the left 6.

Coppinger (for Richards, 64) – unable to wrestle back much control 6

John-Jules (for Smith, 64) – a goal from the bench to give Rovers hope 7
