Hull City boss Tim Walter's upbeat message to Tigers fans after trip to QPR

HULL CITY coach Tim Walter acknowledged the developing “trust” among his players after they continued to turn their Championship season around with a third straight win.

The latest three points came on the road at QPR as goals from Cody Drameh, Christian Bedia and Liam Millar secured a 3-1 win at Loftus Road. The result moved the Tigers up to ninth in the table and just two points off the top six.

"It was really good from my team,” said Walter, who was sernaded by the travelling fans after the final whistle. “It’s good to see how they fight for each other, how they trust each other and the mentality that we have. It’s really brilliant to see how they are enjoying the games more and celebrating together.

"That's really important for us as well, we try to create the family with our fans and also inside with the staff and with the players. And it's getting more and more because everybody's getting to know each other even more.

"It's good that they celebrate with us like that, it's brilliant, it's good to have.”

Tigers goalkeeper Ivor Pandur made three superb saves before Drameh put the Tigers ahead after 25 minutes with a thumping right-footed drive into the bottom corner from near the edge of the penalty area after Regan Slater’s shot had been deflected towards him.

The visitors were 2-0 up after 36 minutes when Lucas Andersen lost possession near the edge of his own box to Lewie Coyle, who found Bedia, who tapped in from close range for his second goal in as many matches.

Nicolas Madsen pulled a goal back for Rangers with a penalty shortly before the interval, but Liam Millar’s second-half goal – a first-time, right-footed rebound with 19 minutes remaining - sealed what turned out to be a resounding Championship win for City.

“It was a tough game,” added Walter. “QPR were a good opponent, they played well and at the beginning we had to stay strong. They had a few opportunities to score and Pandur was brilliant.

“But after the first goal for us we were even stronger and were more comfortable with the ball. How we played, especially in the second half, was really brilliant. I’m really proud of my boys.

“They (QPR) had a few chances but after scoring our third goal we showed that we want to keep the ball, have more possession, drive forward and create more chances. That’s what I like to see.”
