Supercomputer predicts Championship table with Hull City, Middlesbrough FC, Southampton & Ipswich Town verdicts

Opta have predicted where the likes of Middlesbrough, Hull City, Southampton and Ipswich Town will finish in the Championship table.

Middlesbrough were on course for automatic promotion but have lost their footing and endured a run of five games without a win. Their dismal form continued over the weekend with a 1-0 defeat to Portsmouth at the Riverside.

Hull are fighting to hold on their place in the top six and were beaten 2-1 by Sheffield United, downed by late goals from Gustavo Hamer and Danny Ings.

It was also a positive weekend on the blue side of the Steel City, as already-relegated Sheffield Wednesday held league leaders Coventry City to a goalless draw.

Away from Yorkshire, Birmingham City swept Wrexham aside and Southampton got the better of Derby County. It ended goalless between West Bromwich Albion and Millwall, as well as between Queens Park Rangers and Bristol City.

Leicester took a step closer to relegation with a 1-0 defeat to Swansea City but Oxford United boosted their survival hopes with a 2-0 victory over Watford. Charlton Athletic were edged out by Preston North End, Ipswich Town secured a derby win at Norwich City and Stoke City drew with Blackburn Rovers.

Following the latest twists and turns, here is how the data experts at Opta expect the final Championship table to look.
