Hull City player ratings: Full debutant catches the eye in mixed bag
Hull City were beaten 1-0 as Sunderland returned to the top of the Championship.
The Black Cats will feel it was no less than they deserved for dominating long spells of the game but the manner of the goal after Hull had defended so well left those connected with the Tigers angry at full-time.
Ivor Pandur – pretty well protected, except for the goal 6
Lewie Coyle – able to get forward at times without his defensive duties suffering 7
Alfie Jones – played an important part in Pandur's quiet afternoon 7
Charlie Hughes – a very good first start by the centre-back, a big reason why Sunderland did not have more shots as their dominance of the ball 8
Cody Drameh – with plenty of opportunity to take the ball off Wilson Isidor, he was unable to do so 5
Gustavo Puerta – assured started on his debut 7
Xavier Simons – a good foil for Puerta in the midfield 6
Marvin Mehlem – yes, Bobby Madley running across him was distracting, but he still gave the ball away for the decisive moment 5
Mohammed Belloumi – posed more threat than most to Sunderland's goal 7
Chris Bedia – put a shot against the crossbar shortly before the goal 6
Abu Kamara – substituted having failed to have the required impact 5
Substitutes:
Liam Millar (for Kamara, 65) – improved things when he came on 6
