Verdict: Finding out my season ticket is going up by £105 hasn’t been the greatest end to 2013-14 but it has still been a good season. We got to the Cup final, stayed in the Premier League and are now in Europe. Mind, the key now is building on it and this is an important summer of recruitment. Nikica Jelavic still has to convince me. In fact, him and Shane Long haven’t quite made the impact I expected so maybe we have to change how we play a bit.

Best player: Curtis Davies. What a snip of a signing.

Biggest disappointment: Maynor Figueroa. Started well but soon lost his way.

Best moment: 2-0 up eight minutes into a Cup final doesn’t happen very often.

Lowest moment: How we played in the final few weeks of the league season. Some awful displays.

Where this season has gone right/wrong: We won the games we had to win.

Advice to manager: Don’t go mad but keep strengthening.

best opposition team: Southampton. Great to watch and didn’t cost billions to build.

was the season a success or failure: Safety and an FA Cup final? Success.
