The Millers have lost their last four matches in a row in the Championship, and suffered another defeat in midweek against Nottingham Forest.

For their part, the Royals have endured a slump of their own in recent weeks, and have picked up just one win in their last five.

And looking ahead to Saturday’s clash, Prutton believes that Rotherham can capitalise on their visitors’ poor form to put a stop to their own rot.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, he said: “With so many games in quick succession, it can all go wrong very quickly, and that's what's happened to Rotherham.

"Losing four in a row. There is still a lot of fight in them, and they have games in hand, but they need to pick up points soon.

“Reading will be starting to look over their shoulders a little as there are sides queuing up trying to take their spot in the top six.

"Both sides will be right up for this, so I think I will go for a draw.”

Prutton predicts a 1-1 draw.

Rotherham were comfortably beaten when the two sides met back in October, with the Royals running out 3-0 winners. It’s been sometime since the Millers actually picked up a win over Saturday’s opponents too, with their last victory coming in April 2015.

Since then, Rotherham have endured a run of seven matches against Reading without taking all three points.
