Josh Cullen's Bradford City availability dependent on Ireland duty

JOSH CULLEN will not feature for Bradford City on Sunday if he plays the full 90 minutes for Republic of Ireland Under-21s the previous day, according to Stuart McCall.

The West Ham loanee is away with the national side ahead of their European Championships qualifier at home to Serbia, which is due to kick off at 1pm on Saturday.

Cullen will fly back to Yorkshire on Saturday night but his involvement in Sunday’s televised clash at Scunthorpe is in doubt.

“It would be irresponsible of me or the staff to have Josh play any part if he plays a full 90 minutes on Saturday - as much as he would be willing to do that,” said the Bantams chief, who expects to have Nicky Law back from injury.

“Same with regards being on the bench, as if he is on the bench then you would more than likely put him on. We will monitor the situation.

“He might play just ten minutes (for Ireland), he might come off after half an hour if they are 3-0 up. We just don’t know.

“We have to be fair to the lad, as desperate as he will be to be involved.”

Colin Doyle is also away with the Irish senior side but his potential involvement at Glanford Park is not as complicated due to Martin O’Neill’s men being in action tonight against Wales.

“Colin will be flying back early on Saturday morning so will be here for training,” added McCall. “Josh will fly in Saturday night but we will have to see with him.”
