Opta have forecasted League One finishes for Barnsley, Sheffield Wednesday, Bradford City, Doncaster Rovers, Huddersfield Town and more

The 2026/27 League One campaign is only in its infancy but is already serving up plenty of excitement.

It was another hectic weekend of action, with mixed fortunes for Yorkshire’s third-tier representatives. Sheffield Wednesday ascended to the league summit, claiming a 2-1 win away at Peterborough United.

The Owls knocked Huddersfield Town off their perch, as the Terriers were held to a 1-1 draw by Notts County and fell into second.

Further down the table, Bradford City got back to winning ways by edging past Mansfield Town on home turf.

However, Doncaster Rovers were edged out by Plymouth Argyle and Barnsley were on the receiving end of a 5-1 hammering against Stevenage.

Away from Yorkshire, AFC Wimbledon were 2-0 winners at Bromley and Stockport County completed a 4-0 rout of Wigan Athletic. Burton Albion and Cambridge United played out a 2-2 draw, Leicester City were beaten 4-0 by Oxford United and Luton Town shared the spoils with Leyton Orient.

Reading were 3-1 winners over Blackpool and Wycombe Wanderers drew 3-3 with Milton Keynes Dons.

Following the latest twists and turns, data experts Opta have fired up their supercomputer to predict how the table will look at the end of the season.
