The latest on reported Leeds United interest in free agent defender Danilho Doekhi
Leeds United reportedly remain interested in free agent defender Danilho Doekhi.
The 27-year-old defender was linked with Leeds in January and talk of interest from West Yorkshire resurfaced last month.
Doekhi is now available to pick up on the free agent market having played his final game for Union Berlin in their Bundesliga season finale.

Leeds United interest in Danilho Doekhi latest
According to TEAMtalk, Leeds still have the former Netherlands youth international in their sights as they plot their summer business.
However, even though Doekhi is unattached, a deal may not prove straightforward to do. Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are said to have held multiple conversations over the defender and are believed to represent a good option for him.
Turkish outfit Besiktas, meanwhile, are reportedly to pay hefty wages to Doekhi in return for his signature. The situation is thought to be a fluid one and much could change in the coming weeks.
The appeal of Doekhi is clear, with his durability a particularly attractive trait. Across Union Berlin’s last two seasons, he has not missed a single minute of action.
The centre-back also has an eye for goal and weighed in with seven over the course of his final season in the German capital.

Leeds United’s centre-back department
Leeds’ formation change in November, which saw manager Daniel Farke start using three centre-backs, has increased their reliance on central defenders.
Joe Rodon, Jaka Bijol and Pascal Struijk have been Farke’s options of choice, with Sebastiaan Bornauw and even full-back James Justin acting as understudies.
It remains to be seen whether that centre-back pool is disrupted over the summer, as there has been some transfer speculation. A clutch of Premier League rivals have been linked with Struijk and there has been talk of a move back to the Bundesliga for Belgium-capped Bornauw.
