Fulham 'preparing' £24m offer to sign Leeds United target Shea Charles from Southampton

A fresh claim regarding Fulham interest in Leeds United target Shea Charles has emerged

Fulham are reportedly preparing a £24m bid to sign Leeds United target Shea Charles from Southampton.

The 22-year-old midfielder enjoyed a stellar 2025/26 season in the Championship and was closely tracked by Leeds. He helped the Saints reach the play-offs, only to be removed as the ‘spygate’ saga unfolded.

Talk of interest from Elland Road has been persistent, although a breakthrough on the negotiations front does not look to have been made.

Fulham and Crystal Palace have also been linked with Charles and it appears the former are set to make a move.

Leeds United face Fulham competition

According to Mail Online, the Cottagers are lining up a £24m bid for the coveted Northern Ireland international.

Southampton are said to be holding out for £25m plus add-ons and it remains to be seen whether their resolve will be weakened.

Fulham’s new boss Alvaro Arbeloa is reportedly on board with Charles as a target, and talks are expected to advance soon.

Leeds United’s midfield

When pursuits are drawn out, doubts over the plausibility of a deal start to kick in. However, it is hardly uncommon for transfer sagas to result in done deals.

Charles would arguably be a shrewd addition to Daniel Farke’s squad, but the Leeds manager can take solace in the numbers he already has in the middle of park.

He has club captain Ethan Ampadu at his disposal, as well as Anton Stach, Ao Tanaka, Ilia Gruev and Sean Longstaff.

All have been named in Leeds’ squad for their pre-season trip to the USA, which will feature friendly clashes with Wrexham, Sunderland and Liverpool.

Leeds’ summer signings tally currently stands at two, with defender Tarik Muharemović and winger Harry Wilson through the door at Elland Road.
