Leeds United 'keen' on Middlesbrough FC star Hayden Hackney as Crystal Palace 'interest' detailed
Middlesbrough’s reported stance on Hayden Hackney outlined as Leeds United and Crystal Palace are linked
Leeds United are said to be keen on Middlesbrough star Hayden Hackney - but could reportedly have to stump up £20m for his signature.
The midfielder is among the most revered talents in the Championship and has repeatedly been linked with Premier League clubs.
Middlesbrough have again failed to seal promotion from the second tier and now appear likely to lose their most prized asset.

Leeds United ‘keen’ on Middlesbrough star Hayden Hackney
According to reporter Alan Nixon via his Patreon page, Leeds are keen on Hackney as they prepare to raise their squad’s level again this summer.
The 23-year-old is set to enter the final year of his contract but it has been claimed Middlesbrough will dig their heels in and demand a fee in the region of £20m.
Crystal Palace have also been credited with interest, although the Eagles are only thought to be keen on doing a deal for around half of the mooted fee.
Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, could reportedly get in the mix if they lose Manchester United-linked man Elliot Anderson. Earlier this month, Brighton & Hove Albion were reported to be admirers of Hackney.
Hayden Hackney’s future
Middlesbrough could potentially run the risk of seeing Hackney’s value decrease if they play hardball over the midfielder this summer. If he stays beyond the summer, he could be picked up for a bargain fee in the mid-season window or on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.
The midfielder’s own wishes could prove influential, as the former England youth international could be forgiven for feeling ready for a step-up.

He would arguably be a coup for Leeds, although would be walking into a crowded central midfield department. Whites manager Daniel Farke has Ethan Ampadu, Anton Stach, Ilia Gruev, Ao Tanaka and Sean Longstaff at his disposal in the middle of the park.
Since graduating from Middlesbrough’s academy, Hackney has made a total of 153 senior appearances for the club.
