Leeds United transfer news as record-breaking speedster completes business in very late deal
Leeds United have signed the forward they were hoping for on deadline day after beating Hull City to Jean-Matteo Bahoya.
The speedy Eintracht Frankfurt winger had been one of a number of deals Hull were working on during the final day of transfer business in 2026, but Leeds stepped in when the 21-year-old apparently turned them down.

The Whites have taken him on loan with an obligation to buy at a price understood to be around £20m, with an extra £4.3m of potential add-ons. This is in addition to a £1.7m loan fee
The deal was completed nearly two hours after the 11pm deadline and takes Leeds’ signings for this transfer window to seven.
Bahoya holds the record for the fastest sprint recorded in Bundesliga history. At 37.16 km/h, it was only 0.42 km/h slower than the average pace of the 100m world record Usain Bolt set in 2009.
All summer Leeds have looked in need of a centre-forward, especially after selling Joel Piroe to West Ham United, leaving Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha as their only senior specialists in the position.
But instead they ended up chasing a couple of wide players.
They were in for Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk but the Ukrainian apparently preferred Tottenham Hotspur.
Bahoya, who can also play as an attacking midfielder, has scored seven goals in 78 games for Frankfurt, making another eight.
