Big name Leeds player offered to two clubs, Raid for 20-goal striker mooted

Leeds United forward Rodrigo has already been offered to two Spanish clubs ahead of a potential return to La Liga this summer.

That’s according to La Razon, who are touting a possible exit for the 30-year-old.

Fellow publication Fichajes have reported a number of times that the Spain international is dissatisfied with his current situation at Elland Road, and it has even been suggested that he wants to leave the Whites, just 12 months after becoming their record signing.

It has been claimed that Rodrigo is not happy with having to play in positions other than his preferred central striking role, and he is concerned that he could miss out on this summer’s European Championship as a result.

Subsequently, speculation surrounding a potential return to the Spanish top flight has mounted, with this fresh update naming Real Betis and Sevilla as possible destinations.

La Razon report that Leeds are well aware of Rodrigo’s popularity in Spain, and will try to use his status in La Liga to find a buyer.

So far this season, the forward has made 21 appearances in the Premier League – nine of which have come from the bench – scoring three goals.

Elsewhere, former Elland Road striker Noel Whelan has urged his old to make a move for Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard.

Speaking on BBC Radio Leeds, he said: “I do think we need another striker, no doubt about that.

"I have been thinking for over two seasons now.

“Edouard at Celtic. I have been a big fan of him for a long time. He is my choice.

"He has got the stature, he has got the work rate, he can take set pieces.”

The French hitman has endured a difficult season in Glasgow, with his side missing out on a historic 10th consecutive league title north of the border.

On a personal level he has performed well, however, hitting 20 goals in 34 outings.

A move could be viable too, with Football Insider reporting that the player has set his sights on a summer exit, regardless of who is appointed to replace Neil Lennon in the coming weeks.
