Ex-Leeds United ace favourite for new managerial role, Huddersfield Town eye £13m striker

Leeds United failed to break into the top half of the Premier League table last night, as they slipped to a 2-1 home loss to Carlo Ancelotti's Everton, despite dominating possession and taking more shots than the Toffees.

Leeds will look to put the disappointing result behind them and regroup ahead of the weekend, when they welcome Crystal Palace - a side currently level of points with the Whites in mid-table - to Elland Road.

The last time the two sides met, back in November, Roy Hodgson’s side battered the Whites at Selhurst Park, as goals from the likes of Scott Dann and Jordan Ayew saw the Eagles grab a 4-1 win.

Meanwhile, down in the Championship, it's still all to play for as the second-half of the season continues to unfold, with the battle for promotion and fight against relegation continue to take fresh twists and turns.

Huddersfield Town will be eager to end a six-match run without a win, but will face a stiff challenge against a spirited Luton Town outfit, who have performed well above expectations this season.

Elsewhere, Yorkshire sides Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham United remain locked in a fierce relegation battle which looks set to go down to the wire, while Barnsley, should they string a few wins together, could start dreaming about the play-offs.

Here's our rundown of all the latest news and transfer talk involving Leeds United, Huddersfield Town, and a number of other sides from Yorkshire and further afield:
