Mourinho’s men kick off the campaign with a match against newly-promoted Hull at Stamford Bridge on August 17.

And Tigers’ fans will relish their festive programme, with Manchester United heading to the KC Stadium on Boxing Day.

After opening at Chelsea, Steve Bruce’s Hull then host Norwich City at the KC Stadium on August 24 before another daunting trip to Manchester City the following week.

Other key fixtures sees Hull host Liverpool on November 30, and visit Anfield on New Year’s Day.

In the Championship, Sheffield Wednesday provide the first opposition for relegated QPR at Loftus Road on the opening day of the Football League weekend on August 3.

Leeds United begin their first full season under Brian McDermott with a home game against last season’s play-off semi-finalists Brighton, while Middlesbrough also host a top six side in Leicester.

Leeds host Sheffield Wednesday in an intriguing Yorkshire derby on August 17. Sandwiched in between two away trips for the Owls is a home game with Burnley on August 10.

Wednesday host Barnsley on February 1 having visited Oakwell on October 26.

Owen Coyle’s first game in charge of Wigan will take him to Oakwell for a meeting with Barnsley. Coyle took the job this week after Roberto Martinez left the relegated FA Cup winners for Everton. David Flitcroft oversaw a remarkable rescue act last season at Barnsley.

League 1 champions Doncaster kick off their second-tier return at home to Paul Ince’s Blackpool, while Huddersfield Town, who also only just survived, visit Nottingham Forest on the opening day.

Doncaster visit Sheffield Wednesday on September 28 and welcome the Owls to the Keepmoat on March 22.

The Barnsley versus Doncaster fixtures are at Oakwell on November 9 and at Rovers on February 15.

The first big West Yorkshire derby of the season between Huddersfield and Leeds is at the John Smith’s Stadium on October 26 with the return at Elland Road on February 1.

The busy Christmas period in the Championship sees a handful of short-haul trips and Roses rivalries, with Bolton going to Barnsley on Boxing Day, while Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds head over the Pennines for games with Blackburn and Blackpool respectively.

Other Boxing Day fixtures see Huddersfield take on Derby, Doncaster welcome Ipswich and Middlesbrough hosting Burnley.

As it did last season, on a memorable and breathtaking final day, the campaign draws to a close on the opening Saturday in May, the 3rd.

QPR are the favourites to lift the title and if that plays out it could come at Barnsley.

Leeds, hoping that McDermott can be the man to finally make a decent fist of a promotion attempt, finish with perennial bogey side Derby, while Ipswich are at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

Watford host Huddersfield and Doncaster visit Leicester.

Finally, Middlesbrough’s fans will hope the longest trip in the division - to Yeovil - will have a tangible reward attached to it.

In League One, Sheffield United fans already know their side take on Notts County at Bramall Lane in one of six opening weekend fixtures to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Football Association.

The Blades then travel to Brentford the following Saturday and travel to Rotherham for the South Yorkshire derby on September 7 with the return on March 8.

David Weir’s United host Oldham on Boxing Day and finish the season at Bramall Lane against Coventry on May 3.

Newly-promoted Rotherham United visit Crewe Alexandra and then host Preston on August 10.

League Two play-off winners Bradford City begin life in the third tier away at relegated Bristol City.

The Bantams’ first home game is against Carlisle seven days later with the pick of the Boxing Day fixtures in the whole of Yorkshire being their home date with Rotherham United.

The return date for that fixture at the New York Stadium is on April 12. Bradford finish against Tranmere on May 3.

In League Two, York City welcome play-off semi-finalists Northampton Town.

Nigel Worthington’s side travel to Accrington Stanley on Boxing Day and finish their campaign at Scunthorpe United on May 3, when they will be hoping to not be repeating the nerve-jangler they had at Dagenham last season.
