Rosler took in Moore’s performance in a League Cup tie at Gigg Lane, raising the possibility of a firm bid from Leeds to take the centre-back on a season-long loan.

Leicester are to offers for Moore and United have kept an eye on the 22-year-old throughout the summer, without pushing to conclude a deal.

Rosler, however, is keen to improve his choice of centre-backs and the move to scout Moore last night came as talk of interest in Giuseppe Bellusci arose in Italy.

Serie A clubs Atalanta and Bologna are being credited with an interest in Bellusci who has three years left on his contract at Elland Road.

Moore is well known to Rosler having worked with United’s head coach while Rosler was manager of Brentford in 2013.

The 6’1” defender was sent to Griffin Park on loan by Leicester, one of three temporary moves completed by Moore so far.
