Leeds United complete deal for Celtic defender O’Dea

The paperwork was finalised today and the 24-year-old, who can play at centre-back or left-back, passed a medical at Elland Road.

Leeds manager Simon Grayson said: “He is a versatile, strong defender with a great attitude and he knows the Championship well following his time at Ipswich last season.

“He has good experience and know-how and will be a good addition to the squad.”

Leeds hope to have O’Dea available for the opening game of the season against Southampton on Saturday.

O’Dea said: “I’m delighted to be here. I’d been looking to get away and as soon as I heard of Leeds’ interest I had no doubts.”
