Leeds United v Brentford: Whites have nothing to fear from Brentford – Gray

EDDIE Gray says Leeds United have no need to fear Brentford on Saturday with the club legend believing his side can boss the Bees for another home win at Elland Road.

Brentford sit fifth in the Championship and only five points off top and Mark Warburton’s men are 17 points and 14 places better off than Leeds.

However, there is no denying that Neil Redfearn’s Whites are improving - a point highlighted by a four-game unbeaten run - and Gray is taking extra confidence from this season’s home wins against leaders Bournemouth and Derby.

Leaders Bournemouth were banished 1-0 at Elland Road last month while Derby were also top when they were felled 2-0 back in November.

Brentford will also arrive at Elland Road on the back of a defeat having lost 1-0 at home to Middlesbrough last weekend.

Gray reasoned: “Brentford lost out last Saturday against Middlesbrough but Brentford are a decent side.

“Obviously they are up there challenging for that top six place but we have beat Bournemouth and beat Derby - the two teams who are first and second in the league.

“There’s no reason why we can’t go and get a result against them.”

“I don’t think it will do us any harm going in on the back of a victory and them coming off a defeat.

“We’re playing at home as well and we shouldn’t be frightened of coping with Brentford, no disrespect to them.

“Although they are a good side, we should be confident going into the game on a four game unbeaten run.”
