Leeds United’s Schmeichel bound for Leicester City

Leeds United goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is on the verge of a £1.5m switch to Championship rivals Leicester City.

The Elland Road club has accepted an undisclosed offer for the Danish goalkeeper, who has one year left to run on his contract.

Schmeichel joined the club on a free transfer last season and the Yorkshire Post understands the fee is in the region of £1.5m.

He played under Leicester boss Sven Goran Eriksson for both Manchester City and Notts County.
