Brighton v Hull City

Team news: David Meyler is fit despite having to sit out the Republic of Ireland’s midweek international friendly against Poland with a knee injury. But Abdoulaye Faye is out for three weeks with a calf strain, while Sone Aluko remains on the sidelines. Aluko could, though, be back before the end of this month after a faster than anticipated recovery from a torn Achilles.

Huddersfield Town v Cardiff City

Team news: Despite wanting to play, Peter Clarke misses out with concussion, with doctors ordering him to have two weeks of total rest. Lee Novak is also missing along with Jermaine Beckford, Keith Southern and Danny Ward, with Joel Lynch and Ollie Norwood also doubtful.

Middlesbrough v Barnsley

Team news: Boro could be boosted by the return of winger Mustapha Carayol, out since September with a knee injury. Stephen Dawson (ankle) remains sidelined for the Reds. Jim McNulty is stepping up his rehabilitation following a hamstring injury, while Reuben Noble-Lazarus (groin) is set to be out for another six to seven days.

Sheffield Wednesday v Derby County

Team news: Owls left-back Reda Johnson has been ordered to rest his injured ankle for two weeks, but Dave Jones has no new injury worries.

Wolves v Leeds United

Team news: Steve Morison is hoping to make his debut after being forced to sit out last week’s draw at home to Cardiff City with a thigh injury. Ross McCormack should also be available after flu but Rodolph Austin may miss out due to only returning from international duty yesterday.

League One

Doncaster Rovers v Walsall

Team news: Iain Hume (calf) is still a fortnight away from a return, with Dave Syers out for three weeks with an ankle injury, with Robbie Blake also sidelined. Martin Woods is pushing for a place.

Shrewsbury Town v Sheffield United

Team news: Blades goalkeeper Mark Howard has suffered a setback and has been ruled out for another four weeks, while Shaun Miller is out long-term. But full-back Matt Hill is back in contention after five weeks out with a fractured jaw.

League Two

Bradford City v Gillingham

Team news: Curtis Good is back after missing the draw at Fleetwood through illness but Rory McArdle is out with an ankle injury sustained on the west coast but Nahki Wells is fit to lead the Bantams attack despite leaving Highbury Stadium with a niggling injury.

Burton Albion v Rotherham United

Team news: Claude Davis returns from suspension for the Millers, with Lee Frecklington also back and midfielders David Noble and Michael O’Connor having shaken off knocks. Millers defender Ian Sharps, on loan at Burton, is ineligible.

Wycombe Wanderers v York City

Team news: Gary Mills has been the biggest concern at Bootham Crescent this week with the City manager having been struggling with flu. In terms of the playing staff, however, Ashley Chambers, Michael Coulson, Lanre Oyebanjo and Chris Doig all miss the trip to Adams Park.
