Team news: Yannick Sagbo serves the last of a two-game ban meted out to the City striker for a tweet that was in support of the quenelle gesture made by Nicolas Anelka. Otherwise, Robert Snodgrass is out for six months with a dislocated kneecap and Alex Bruce (back) a doubt as Steve Bruce prepares to once again make wholesale changes from the team fielded in the Europa League.

Championship

Huddersfield Town v Charlton Athletic

Team news: Anthony Gerrard (calf), Oscar Gobern (toe), Martin Paterson (knee) and Joe Lolley (hip), while James Vaughan is also a major doubt with a calf problem.

Middlesbrough v Sheffield Wednesday

Team news: Boro’s Ben Gibson will return to full training next week following a hamstring injury. Owls Sam Hutchinson (back) is 50-50 but Kieran Lee (groin) is out.

Millwall v Rotherham United

Team news: Paul Green is out for between two to three weeks with a foot injury sustained against Watford, with Michael Tidser, who replaced him from the bench in midweek, favourite to start in his place in central midfield alongside Richie Smallwood.

Watford v Leeds United

Team news: Souleymane Doukara is definitely out with ruptured ankle ligaments, while the Leeds squad has been troubled by a virus this week. New signing Mirco Antennuci is in the squad following his arrival on Thursday from Italian side Ternana.

League One

Barnsley v Gillingham

Team news: Barnsley manager Danny Wilson is hoping several players with niggles will be fit, including Paul Digby (foot), Adam Davies (dead leg), Keith Treacy (abductor) and James Bailey (hamstring). Ross Turnbull is back in training following a back injury and could be involved. Dale Jennings is available following suspension.

Bradford City v Peterborough United

Team news: With Billy Clarke not expected to be available due to a hamstring problem, Phil Parkinson’s biggest decision is whether to start with Peterborough old boy Aaron Mclean or Mason Bennett up front alongside James Hanson. The duo played 45 minutes each in midweek against Crawley.

Colchester United v Doncaster Rovers

Team news: Doncaster manager Paul dickov says central defender Rob Jones has a ‘fighting chance’ of featuring despite going off with a neck problem against Preston. Fellow defender Jamie McCombe is also in the fray, while Harry Forrester is available following suspension. Curtis Main remains sidelined.

Sheffield United v Crawley Town

Team news: Michael Higdon, Stefan Scougall and Bob Harris are hoping for recalls as Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough, whose side travel to West Ham United on Tuesday, continues to rotate his squad to cope with a heavy schedule. Chris Porter, Stephen McGinn and Andy Butler are also hoping for some game-time.

League Two

Exeter City v York City

Team news: Wes Fletcher, last season’s top scorer, is again likely to start on the bench despite netting in Tuesday’s draw with Cambridge. Nigel Worthington is determined to protect Fletcher, who suffered a serious knee injury in March and only returned to first-team action a week ago. Michael Ingham could start his first game of the season in the York goal.
