Team news: Kenneth Omeruo will replace the suspended Daniel Ayala in central defence, while new signing Adam Forshaw is in the Boro squad - although is likely to be on the bench. Mustapha Carayol boosted his fitness in the reserves this week, but is unlikely to be involved. Damia and Ryan Fredericks are sidelined, with Rhys Williams out long-term.

Huddersfield Town v Leeds United

Team news: Jonathan Hogg is likely to be missing for Town. Sol Bamba is hoping to make his bow for United, without Giuseppe Bellusci due to suspension. Steve Morison has recovered from a knock to feature. New signing Granddi Ngoyi is also in Leeds’s squad and eyeing a debut.

Reading v Sheffield Wednesday

Team news: Sam Hutchinson is available again for the Owls after serving a one-match suspension. Lewis Buxton continues to step up his comeback from injury.

League One

Barnsley v Port Vale

Team news: Experienced duo Martin Cranie and Peter Ramage are expected to hand the Reds a boost by returning, with James Bailey also likely to be available. Sam Winnall is still out, but ‘not too far’ away according to Danny Wilson.

Bradford City v Colchester United

Dean Furman could be available again following African Cup of Nations duty with South Africa, while Richie Wellens is set to return to the fray after missing the Notts County game with illness.
