Not only did the Seagulls slam the brakes on a potential permanent move for defender Ben White, but they also beat the Whites at Elland Road earlier this year.
Since then, Marcelo Bielsa’s men have definitely had the better fortunes of the two sides, and go into this one off the back of six games unbeaten in the top flight.
Brighton have endured a slightly more difficult time of late, and slipped up against bottom club Sheffield United last weekend.
If Leeds are to take all three points on the south coast, however, they may have to do so without Raphinha.
Speaking in a press conference, Bielsa confirmed that the winger could be absent for Saturday’s clash with Albion – although there was more positive news regarding record signing Rodrigo.
He said: "Rodrigo is healthy, that doesn't mean he's fit to play. We will see how many minutes he can play.
"[For Raphinha] more than serious, it's more difficult to give a diagnostic or prognosis of when he will be able to return. It's a hit which created an internal hematoma.
“Until that disappears it causes pain and inhibits the mobility. This can be resolved quickly or take longer. When it reduces and he is no longer in pain then he will return quickly.
"The impression is we're in the final stages before he's finally healed."
