Leeds United transfer news: Elland Road player attracting attention, De Paul delivers message on future

Leeds United winger Raphinha’s stellar start to life in the Premier League continues to attract attention.

The 24-year-old has been in fine form in recent weeks, and has earned glowing praise from the likes of Jamie Carragher and Paul Merson over the past few days.

Perhaps a little more worryingly for the Whites, however, the Brazilian also appears to be drawing admiration from defending champions Liverpool.

According to a report from France Football via Sport Witness, the wide man is “‘high on the list” of Reds’ targets for next season, with a potential summer swoop on the cards.

The update echoes similar claims from online publication Football lnsider, who suggest that Liverpool have been “blown away" by the South American’s impact at Elland Road.

Raphinha’s season continues to go from strength to strength.

The winger has hit four goals and four assist in 17 league outings for Leeds so far, and he went viral on social media on Monday night after humiliating Crystal Palace defender Gary Cahill with an audacious piece of skill. Ex-Whites hitman Jermaine Beckford was among those who piled praise on him for his trickery.

His in-game stats have been mightily impressive too.

According to Whoscored, no Leeds player has made more dribbles per 90 minutes than Raphinha this season, while he ranks second and third in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad for shots on goal and key passes per game respectively.

It's easy to see why he is generating so much hype.

Elsewhere, long-term Leeds target Rodrigo De Paul has been speaking about his future at current club Udinese.

The Whites were heavily-linked with a move for the Argentine international last summer, with the player's social media activity seemingly suggesting that he was open to a transfer at one stage.

For now, however, he appears keen to reiterate his loyalty to the Serie A side.

Speaking to Udinese TV, he said: “I don’t know when my last day here will be, but until then I will give everything.

“Even last summer and in January there was a lot of talk about me, but I immediately went to the club’s directors to say that I would not go anywhere.

“I’ve closed the doors on everyone and we hope to continue like this."
