The young Spanish forward is yet to make a senior appearance for the Whites, and has spent plenty of time out on loan since signing from Barcelona in 2019.
After a protracted transfer saga in January, however, he managed to secure a temporary stint with hometown club Las Palmas, and it would appear that things are going pretty well for the 22-year-old.
Aside from scoring a goal in his first start for the Gran Canarian outfit, Mujica has seemingly impressed his new side enough for them to make a permanent move for him in the upcoming summer transfer window.
A statement from Las Palmas’ president, as cited by Spanish publication Sport, said: “There’s an agreement in which UD Las Palmas can extend the contract beyond June 30th.
"If his performance continues as it’s been going, he must continue here.”
Impressive stuff, althought it’s worth pointing out that Mujica's early goal remains his only one for the club.
The article fails to mention any kind of fee for the player at this stage.
Elsewhere, The Star report that Sheffield Wednesday defender Osaze Urhoghide is not interested in holding talks in the immediate future over a potential exit from Hillsborough, despite the Owls’ precarious position in the Championship.
A prior report from Football League World credited Leeds as being one of a number of clubs from across Europe who are interested in the player, who has established himself as a first team regular with Wednesday in recent weeks despite being just 20 years old.
